No more battles against powerless hours for centre

No more battles against powerless hours for centre

Thanks to the Ponohalo De Beers Trust, Epilepsy SA in Parys has been able to install a battery backup system at the centre. With Parys being hard hit by both Eskom and municipal load shedding, resulting in hours without electricity, this will go a long way in alleviating the difficulties residents and staff experience. Some evenings, all the flats are in darkness and a generator only provided lighting outside.
This system will also supply uninter-rupted power to the sickbay and offices. The power to the sickbay is essential as residents sometimes need assistance on machines that have to run 24/7. This installation is a huge step in ensuring that residents receive high-quality care.
