Initiated men from the Basotho tribe gathered on April 5 at the Master Nakedi Sports Centre in Tumahole for a FAMO event organised by Fani Tekane. “The Sesotho name FAMO simply means to retain the dignity of the culture”, Tekane explained, saying that the event will be ongoing, also visiting schools and addressing issued related to the behaviour of boys who are initiated.
Among guests attending the FAMO was representatives from Tau Diya Rora in the Vaal Triangle, who came to build a partnership with men from Tumahole and Mokwallo.
After the event the crew joined in singing from the Master Nakedi Sports Centre to the old local taxi rank where the event was wrapped up.
