Update: Road closure R26

A team of police crime experts are still processing the scene.

The R26 between Tweeling and Reitz, which was previously closed due to an active crime scene following a shootout incident, has now been reopened to traffic.

However, road users are urged to remain cautious while traveling through the area as law enforcement officials are still conducting final assessments.

The preliminary report is that three males and a female died after being attacked and shot at by assailants driving in a Green Mercedes Benz and White Honda with Lesotho registration number plates.

The victims were driving in a White Honda Fit/ Jazz. Four victims succumbed to gunshot wounds on the scene, and the fifth victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
