The Hawks in the Free State have arrested 35-year-old Gregony Deck, who was previously circulated as a wanted suspect in connection with allegations of human trafficking, rape and robbery.

Members of the Bloemfontein Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) received information on Friday,August 7, regarding the whereabouts of the suspect in Theunissen. Assisted by the Tactical Response Team, the information was operationalised, resulting in the suspect being traced and arrested at a house in Masilo, Theunissen.

According to Warrant Officer Fikiswa Matoti, further investigations revealed that Deck was previously released on parole in 2025 after being convicted of rape.

Deck is expected to appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 11 for human trafficking, rape, and robbery.
