Countdown for Parys’ festive parade
Once the parade officially ends, you can still enjoy the markets set up at different venues and the festivities across town as illustrated on the map.
The countdown has started for Parys’ 150th celebration parade on Heritage Day next week, followed by two days of golf on both Parys’ golf courses on September 25-26.
Here’s how the celebration on September 24 will unfold:
08:00 – Meet and gather
The excitement of the parade starts with participants gathering on the open field between Unie and Wes Street. Arrive early, get settled, and soak up the atmosphere.
10:00 – Parade starts
The parade starts and will make its way along Parys’ main street, bringing together local businesses, organisations, community groups, performers, artists, sports clubs, and residents for this colourful and vibrant event.
11:00 – Live performances
The parade pauses between Father Balink and Middel Street for an hour of performances.
From 11:00-12:00 the street will be the stage showcasing the talent and creativity of the community of this beautiful Free State town and honouring local heroes.
12:00 – The parade proceeds
After the performances, the parade will continue towards the open field next to the fire brigade.
Once the parade officially ends, you can still enjoy the markets set up at different venues and the festivities across town as illustrated on the map.

Golf events
Both golf events are fully booked and will take place at Vaal de Grace on September 25 and Parys Golf & Country Estate on September 26. However, you can still be part of this event as a sponsor.
