The Amazing Race Potchefstroom, held on December 6, was a tremendous success, much to the excitement and enjoyment of all participants. A total of 34 teams consisting of 136 participants competed in this year’s event.

According to Karin van Niekerk, organiser of the Amazing Race Potchefstroom, the team raised R2 300, which will be used to purchase nonperishable cleaning supplies for the elderly residents of Skemering and Uitsig.

“We also collected various goods from our sponsoring businesses, which we will be delivering soon,” she added.

The teams started at 8:00 at the Akker and completed their final challenges at De Leeukuil (Potch Rugby Club).

“This year proved more challenging than ever due to a record number of sponsoring businesses that came on board, 37 compared to the 20 last year. More than R80 000 worth of prizes were given away,” Karin says.

The winning team was once again the Tsunamies (Jana, Pieter, and Riaan Blignaut), who have now claimed the title for the third consecutive year.

“What a day it was, I cannot describe how proud I am about all the support The Amazing Race Potchefstroom has received, the contestants, the sponsor businesses, the public, and the team of Undercover for Success Agency. This was a huge success because of you all. Thank you so much,” Karin concludes.
