Cross-border roadblock strengthens law enforcement efforts on the N12

During the operation, a total of 16 fines were issued, amounting to R13 800.

The SAPS in Potchefstroom conducted a successful cross-border roadblock on the N12 between Potchefstroom and Gauteng on December 5.

SAPS members and provincial traffic officials were deployed to ensure strict law-enforcement compliance, road safety, and the disruption of criminal activities along this major route.

The initiative was honoured by a visit from the Minister of Road and Transport Management, Barbara Creecy, as well as the North West MEC for Community Safety, Wessels Morweng, who commended the multi-agency collaboration and visibility displayed during the operation.

The Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson and deputy chairperson also attended, offering their support and reinforcing the importance of community partnerships in improving safety.

During the operation, a total of 16 fines were issued, amounting to R13 800, as law enforcement agencies continued their efforts to promote safer roads and combat transgressions.
