Daar is iets stilweg magies daaraan om vir die heel eerste keer in die “groot skool” in te stap. Klein handjies wat oorgroot sakke vashou, harte wat fladder van opwinding en onsekerheid. Op Woensdag, 14 Januarie het Potchefstroom se nuutste Graad 1-leerders daardie dapper eerste tree in ‘n splinternuwe hoofstuk van hul lewens geneem.
Trane is gestort, deur meer as ‘n paar mammas, en deur ‘n kind of twee. Die eerste dag van Graad 1 is ‘n mylpaal wat lank onthou sal word nadat die kryte neergesit is en die skoolskoene ontgroei is. Dit is ‘n dag gevul met hoop, trots en die belofte van alles wat nog voorlê.
