Water restrictions implemented in all Ngwathe towns

Ngwathe Mayor, Cllr Joey Mochela, has announced immediate water restrictions for the entire Ngwathe municipality. This is in line with both the National and Provincial government program of action to put in effect water restrictions.
The situation is aggravated by the absence of rain across the country, is said.

Restrictions are as follow:
* Water restrictions shall be implemented from 21:00-03:00.
* Koppies and Edenville will be further restricted between 13:00 and 15:00.
* Hair and beauty salons and car wash joints must use buckets and those wasting water and without water meters shall be closed.
* Usage of hosepipes is prohibited.
* Ongoing construction work should not use portable water.
* Initiation schools shall not be approved/ are put on hold for this season.
* Watering of gardens is prohibited.
* Re-use shower and bath water (“grey” water) to irrigate your garden.
* Shower instead of bath is encouraged.
* Municipal irrigation water shall also be limited.
These measures will be monitored by municipal officials and fines shall be issued where necessary. Residents with boreholes are requested to place a sign on their fence. Residents are further requested to improvise on saving water and to report any water leaks to 056 811 5834 of 056 811 3111.
