It was all sweat and gasping for breath when people flocked to the Trim Park and took part in gruelling and intense exercises at Charles’ Fitness Boot camp last Saturday.

The 27-year-old personal trainer and model, Charles Monaheng is inviting everyone to come to the Trim Park again this Saturday for another free session of the boot camp. You can expect to take part in exercises that include burpees, lunges with tyres, sprints, push-ups, running with tyres, running with bags of sand and other team-building activities.

The Trifocus Fitness Academy graduate says the idea of a boot camp in Potchefstroom started when he was training with three of his friends. People started complimenting him on the good job he was doing with getting them into shape. “I realised that I have to reach out to people in the community because not everyone can make it to the gym during the week. My wish is to make a success of this and make people realise the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation SA reported last year that South Africa has the highest overweight and obesity rate in sub-Saharan Africa. With that in mind, Charles quotes Edward Stanley who said those who think they have no time for exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.
