Good samaritan allegedly transforms into rapist

Almost every weekend in Ikageng, young women continue to fall prey to rape after a night out at the pub.
Despite numerous warnings from the police about the dangers of walking alone, the problem does not seem to be going away.
Another woman alleges that around 01:55 last Sunday she was on her way home from a pub when an unknown male offered to escort her home safely.
According to WO Ishmael Mohutsiwa, the 25-year-old woman agreed as she felt unsafe and alone.
“They walked together until Chabalala Street when the good samaritan turned into a villain, took out a knife and pointed it at her. He threatened to stab her if she screamed and led her to a nearby house,” he reported.
In a desperate move to save herself, the woman tried to persuade him to rather take her to another house not far from where they were standing. The woman knew the owner of the house is a police official and believed he might have been able to rescue her. The suspect refused and ordered her to get down on the ground next to the yard of the unknown house.
At her request, he agreed to wear a condom and, after raping her, he accompanied her to her gate, turned around and left, says Mohutsiwa.
He once again warned women not to go to pubs alone at night and leave to go back home alone in the early hours of the morning.
