Potchefstroom will host the annual military skills competition for the tenth consecutive year next week.

Potchefstroom will host the annual military skills competition for the tenth consecutive year next week.
This competition will take place from 24 to 29 October and is hosted by the Defence Reserves in cooperation with SA Army Force Preparation and the SA Army Infantry Formation.

The SAASIC Reserve, a unit under command of Infantry Formation, will organise the national event.
The contest is aimed at developing military skills and the participants have to endure physical hardship, utilising technical skills to compete in a combat run, pistol- and rifle shooting and land- and water obstacle crossing.
Participants from Botswana, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Lesotho and the UK will come together to show who is the best of the best.
Potchefstroomers are invited to witness the highlight of the competition at the Kopanelo obstacle course at 08:00 on Friday 28 October when the event focuses on grenade throwing and obstacle crossing. This event is not to be missed.
