Sadly, the youth succumbed to his injuries and died at his home.
The Ikageng police responded to a call from Aquarius Street in Promosa at about 06:00. On their arrival, a paramedic pointed out the deceased, who had a stab wound to his head.
According to Kelebogile Trom, the Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, the witnesses (his friends) alleged that an unknown male had stabbed the boy in Adolf Willemse Street. They had then picked him up and taken him home, where he died shortly afterwards.
She says the suspect is unknown and the police are still investigating.
In another incident, last Friday, police responded to a call that someone has been stabbed to death in the open veld in Ext. 3.
‘When the police arrived at the scene at 10:50, they found an African male in a blue T-shirt, khaki trousers and brown ‘bishop’ shoes lying on the ground.’
On closer examination, they noticed stab wounds on the left cheek, both sides of the mouth and the left side of the chest.
‘The victim is still unknown at this stage. He was taken to the Potchefstroom mortuary,’ Trom said.
She is appealing to the community to help find the family of the deceased, based on the description of the clothes he was wearing at the time.
