The office of the SAPS provincial commissioner has released an identikit of a rape suspect in Matlwang village.

According to Kelebogile Moleko, the SAPS provincial spokesperson, the wanted suspect is between 23 and 24 years of age. He is an African male and speaks Sotho. He is tall, of medium build and has a scar on his right cheek.
Moleko says the incident happened at around 01:30 on Wednesday, 21 December. The suspect is one of three men who gang-raped the 17-year-old.
When the Herald reported on the incident earlier this year, the Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, WO Ishmael Mohutsiwa said the three men forced the teen girl into the bushes in Matlwang village and took turns raping her. She was also assaulted with a bottle. WO Mocumi of the Potchefstroom FCS (family violence, child protection and sexual offences) unit is investigating the case. Anyone with information should contact WO Mocumi on the following numbers: 018-293 9200 or 076 335 6714.
