A man betrayed the trust of his 29-year-old niece when he raped her in her bedroom in Ikageng on Tuesday evening.
According to Kelebogile Trom, Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, the woman was allegedly asleep when her uncle entered her bedroom at about 19:30 and demanded sex. When she refused, her uncle threatened her with an okapi knife and proceeded to rape her.
‘The woman kept the incident a secret until he made another sexual advance while she was in the kitchen at about 09:30 on Thursday. Again, she refused and infuriated her uncle. He pushed her out of the kitchen, causing her to fall and hit her head on the floor. She sustained an injury to the eye in the process and ran to her father’s place for help. The case was reported at the Ikageng police station,’ Trom said.
