The Ikageng police are investigating a rape case after a 31-year-old woman was raped by a known man on her way home from a tavern on Easter Friday.

According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the woman alleges that the male person had grabbed her from behind while she was walking home at about 21:00. ‘The suspect instructed her to accompany her to his place. When she refused, he assaulted her and dragged her there by force.
Upon his arrival at his place, he locked the shack’s door and pushed her onto the bed, undressed her and proceeded to rape her,’ said Trom.
After the deed, the suspect threw her and her clothing outside the shack and she had to get dressed in the open. She then went home and reported the case at a later stage,’ Trom said.
