Two men allegedly raped and assaulted a 21-year-old woman at about 05:30 on Saturday (16 February).
The incident occurred in an open field in Ikageng when she was going home from a school concert.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the woman was walking with two friends when two men approached them.
They took out knives, searched for their cell phones and told them to take off their shoes.
The taller of the two told the complainant she was stubborn. He grabbed her and dragged her to the open veld near the school.
He told her to undress but she refused and tried to run away. When he caught up with her, his accomplice joined them, ripped her clothes off and proceeded to rape her.
After that, the tall man also raped her.
One of the men also stabbed her in the buttocks before they fled. The suspects are unknown,’ said Trom.
