The Ikageng police are investigating a murder case after they found the body of a 50-year-old man in an open field in Dassierand on Saturday, 9 March.
According to Col Adéle Myburgh, the NW SAPS spokesperson, the police found Tsietsi Isaac Mogale’s body in a water trench at about 12:45. “There were several stab wounds on his body,” she said.
Myburgh says two suspects were arrested in Welkom on Tuesday.
‘The two men aged 28 and 21 respectively will appear in court on Thursday (today),’ she said.
Mogale was well known as “Rasta” in Ikageng and the extensions.
Many residents took to Facebook in condemning his murder.
Emelda Netta Msinga said:
‘Good God. Murdered! Who would have thought he would be murdered like any human being, he had his mistakes but above that, he was so kind and always wise… ever smiling. I’m shocked.’
Sweetness Dipale described Rasta as someone who had a marvellous heart…always positive about life…always encouraging and supportive.
‘May your soul rest in peace. Rasta, we will never forget you. I pray those thugs are found and locked up for life,’ she said.
