ALERT: Water shutdown rescheduled

The water shutdown that was scheduled for 29 and 30 January, has been rescheduled.

Earlier this year, the local municipality announced that there will be water interruptions due to the repair on the asbestos pipe at the Cnr. Louis le Grange and Meyer Street, due to water leaks.

The water shutdown was scheduled for 29 and 30 January, but it had to be rescheduled. Jeanette Tshite, the municipal spokesperson says the repairs had to be rescheduled as the service provider needed to apply for permission to work on that particular road.

The rescheduled water repair is as follows:

Dates :                  5 – 6 February 2020 (Wednesday & Thursday)

Time :                    07:00 – 16:00

Water supply interruptions can be expected in the following areas:

  • Ikageng Extensions 7, 11, 13,
  • Sarafina,
  • Central Business District (CBD),
  • Industrial Area.

The following areas may also be affected – Greater Ikageng, Promosa and Mohadin.

NB: Only dates have changed, areas remain the same.

“The contractor will excavate and see how big the leak is and then start to prepare for the repair, if it needs be, water will possibly be closed down from the main supply on the Ventersdorp Road Reservoir,” says Jeanette.
