Girls High are queens of the Spirit Cup

"This is an exhilarating outcome after two weeks of investment in preparing for the Prestige Spirit Competition."

Spirits are high at Potchefstroom Girls’ High after they claimed a superb victory in the Spirit Cup at the 2020 North West Inter-High A-league meeting on Saturday, 15 February.
The cheerleaders were decked out in stunning costumes and led the girls in a superbly choreographed opening set with a 2020 vision theme – safe to say it was near perfection.

The cheerleaders, consisting of Boitemogelo Tang, Tshepi Marule, Mbali Wanda, Muleya Simango, Tshegofatso Rafuto and Vuyiswa Vavane, did a stellar job in leading the supporters on the stand from dawn till dusk. A lot of work goes into the rehearsal of songs and it duly paid off for the girls.
The headmistress of the Potchefstroom High School for Girls, Ms Gwen Duganzich, was ecstatic with the spirit cup victory.
“This win is a true testament to our school’s “2020 Vision” and we are super excited! This is an exhilarating outcome after two weeks of investment in preparing for the Prestige Spirit Competition.
We are so proud of our girls – cheerleaders and supporters,” she exclaimed.
