A 37-year-old father was arrested for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter.
The teenager says she and her younger sister were visiting their father in Marikana.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, he instructed the girls to go into the shack and prepare the food. “He then told the younger sister to go out and said he would call her when the food was ready.”
The father allegedly called the elder girl to the bedroom and asked her to sleep with him. When she refused, he grabbed her violently and raped her. “After all that, he chased her away,” said Trom in a statement.
Captain Sam Tselanyane, the provincial police spokesperson, confirms that the suspect has been arrested. “He appeared briefly before the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 19 February,” he said.
