According to Tebogo Lekgethwane, the North West Department of Health spokesperson, the 53-year-old Gynaecologist from Klerksdorp who tested positive for Covid-19, has recovered.
After spending time in isolation, he was retested and the results came back negative.
All 44 healthcare workers that he had contact with were also tested for the virus and their results came back negative.
Also, the department has successfully traced all contacts of the doctor.
The 56 patients were found and placed in isolation. “Two patients showed symptoms and were tested. The results came back negative,” stated Lekgethwane.
