Caring Mamas put smiles on children’s faces

The Caring Mamas sprinkled some of their motherly love on a group of children on Mandela Day.

The Caring Mamas’ group visited the God is Faithful feeding scheme in Extension 11, Ikageng. They donated essential toiletries, clothes and shoes, and bought a special cake for the children.

The feeding scheme is run by Elizabeth Selogiloe, with the assistance of her husband.

According to Kelebogile Trom, a member of Caring Mamas, Selogiloe fosters 13 children between the ages of three and 13 and feeds about 400 children from Top City and surrounding areas. “She also assists mothers who don’t have IDs to obtain them, so their children can be registered and receive birth certificates,” said Trom. From time to time, Selogiloe also fosters children temporarily if there are domestic issues until their families resolve the matters.

At the moment, the feeding scheme has been without funding and has been relying on donations. The Caring Mamas have, therefore, decided to adopt a feeding scheme until things change.

For more information or contributions, contact Ketlareng Polori, a member of Caring Mamas, at 082 043 4898 or Elizabeth Selogiloe at 076 242 7415.
