The Potchefstroom Medi-Clinic raised the spirits of colleagues as they joined the #Jerusalema Challenge. The hospital held a flashmob on Thursday, 13 August.
According to Diana King, Medi-Clinic spokesperson, this idea was brought forth by Valencia Campbell, a Professional Nurse. She approached Diana and shared the lyrics of the song. “The words of the song resonate with everything we have been going through,” she said. After some research, the staff decided that this was a good way to boost the morale of all staff members.
Diana said this was good for the staff especially since they have dealt with many Covid-19 cases, including some of their own staff testing positive for the Coronavirus. “We’ve been through challenging times with Covid-19 and we’re still going through it. So this was about working together and having fun,” said Diana.
