Hillside residents displeased with no implementation of action plan

Aggrieved residents of Hillside View barricaded the streets again today (30 October), due to the municipality’s alleged failure to meet the service selivery promises made to the community. Residents from Portion 1 and 2, gathered around 08:00, with hopes of meeting with the relevant municipal officials to communicate with them their concerns, but due to their absence and lack of communication, the residents embarked on the protest and barricaded Allan Hendrickse Street and Adolf Willemse Road. The community stopped two trucks, of which one was a municipal vehicle.

This has affected the refuse removal.
