Truck and car collide at N12 and R54 intersection leaving three injured

A man and two women were injured on Tuesday, 16 March when a truck and car collided at the N12 and R54 intersection outside Potchefstroom. ER24 paramedics and the Provincial Services arrived on the scene at 16:40 to find both vehicles in the intersection.

One woman was found seated on the sidewalk while the man was in the driver seat and the woman found trapped in the passenger seat. Medics assessed the patients and found that the man had suffered minor injuries while the woman outside the vehicle had sustained critical injuries.

The woman trapped inside had sustained moderate injuries. The fire services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the woman from the vehicle.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
