Steady increase of active Covid cases in J.B Marks

There has been a steady increase in the amount of active Covid cases in J.B. Marks

According to the latest statistics released by the North West Department of Health on Monday (7 June) the J.B. Marks municipality has 788 active cases of Covid-19.

This shows a steady increase over the last three days. On Saturday (5 June) the municipality had 757 active cases, Sunday (6 June) saw an increase to 772 active cases and Monday the total was 788 active cases.

The J.B Marks municipality contributes 8.1% to the total amount of cases in the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda district which includes Matlosana and Maquassi Hills municipalities.

There are 6985 active cases in the province, J.B. Marks has the fourth most active cases behind Rustenburg (1189) Matlosana (1176), and Mahikeng (1148).

74524 vaccines have been administered.

The department has urged all residents  to adhere to preventative measures of social distancing, sanitizing, wearing of masks, avoiding crowded places and unnecessary travel.
