Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from this morning until Sunday

Eskom announced in a statement on Wednesday morning, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 10h00 on Wednesday 9 June to 22h00 on Sunday 13 June.

Eskom announced in a statement on Wednesday morning that Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from 10h00 on Wednesday 9 June to 22h00 on Sunday 13 June.  The utility said that the rolling power cuts were due to delays in returning generation units to service at Kusile, Tutuka, Duvha, Kendal and Koeberg power stations.

“It is, therefore, necessary to implement load shedding continuously during this period in order to replenish the emergency reserves. Eskom will communicate promptly should there be any changes. Breakdowns currently total 13,752MW of capacity while planned maintenance is 1,200MW,” Spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha said.

Stage 2 means the following for Potch:

Wed (9 June 2021): Potch will NOT be affected by load shedding

Thurs (10 June 2021): Potch will be off from 04h00 – 06h30 and 12h00 – 14h30

Fri (11 June 2021): Potch will be off from 12h00 – 14h30 and 20h00 – 22h30

Sat (12 June 2021): Potch will be off from 20h00 – 22h30

Sun (13 June 2021) : Potch will be off from 02h00 – 04h30

Eskom has apologised for the inconvenience and uncertainty caused by the power cuts and asked South Africans to cut down consumption of electricity.
