Water leakage close to Dassierand

A resident at the Harmony and Immergroen old age home reported a water leakage that has been ongoing for the past two years.

A resident at the Harmony and Immergroen old age home reported a water leakage that has been ongoing for the past two years. The leakage is directly in front of OK Grocer and close to the Engen garage near Dassierand.

Although they are unsure of where the water is coming from, the resident says she had reported the matter countless times, yet it seems her complaints are falling on deaf ears.

“There were people living at the house next to the bridge and when they moved out two years ago, the leakage started and it’s been like that ever since,” the pensioner explained. She has even tried to place rocks and stones with the hope of making it easier to walk across without getting wet. The pensioner added that it used to be a convenient route for whenever they would go on their morning jogs, however, they are now unable to do so.

“It’s quite an inconvenience because we now need to make use of another route, which is much further, just to the garage to buy electricity or a few things from OK Grocer,” she said angrily. The resident even shared that the route is often unsafe to use. “I have slipped and injured myself twice already and still nothing is being done,” she concluded.

The Herald asked the municipality for comment but had received none by the time of going to print.
