In line with this year’s theme, “Serve to Change Lives”, the Rotary Club of Potchefstroom paid a visit to four municipal old age homes, where they helped with a few of the challenges they were facing.

Among their issues were water leaks, faulty and non-functional geysers, faulty electricity, illegal dumping and lice.

With the help of Rotary and their business partners, the geysers were replaced and leaks were fixed.
According to the Rotary Club, all the relevant stakeholders paid the donations into the business account of the Rotarian, André Hallaby. André also assisted by providing the equipment at cost. “There is still a long way to go in assisting in every need of the residents of the four municipal old age homes. We approached the municipality for help, but we have received no response to date,” a statement from Rotary concluded. The Herald asked the municipality for comment but none was forthcoming in time for print.
