Three dead after tragic accident

Three people were confirmed dead at the scene of an accident that happened yesterday afternoon approximately  20km from Potchefstroom on the Ventersdorp road. One passenger was airlifted and nine people were taken by ambulances to hospital.  A taxicollided head-on with a Kia Sedan. The North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari is saddened by the number of people who lost their lives. “We are saddened by the loss of life on our roads while we are doing so much to increase our visibility and continuously engaging with our motorists to comply to the rules of the road. We are doing all this to avoid unnecessary incidents and fatalities. Yesterday’s accident is an unfortunate incident and we really regret the loss of our loved ones,” said MEC Lehari. He sent his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those admitted to hospital. Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
