Since November last year, residents of Auret Street have had to deal with an ongoing water leak that seems to be caused by a burst pipe.
“We don’t know for sure what has caused the pipe to burst but the municipality is well aware of the issue,” a resident who asked to remain anonymous said.
“When the leak first started last year, they were here to fix it but, about four days later, it started again and it’s been like that ever since. Some of my neighbours say there has been a significant difference in their water bill ever since November,” he said.
Residents say they have tried calling the municipality countless times to no avail. “It’s either no one answers or you’re placed on hold for hours on end,” he said.
