Resident caught causing malicious damage

At around 12:04 on Sunday, 29 May, community members caught a man attempting to cut down an electrical pole on the Promosa road.
“That is why that road is so dark at night,” one of the residents expressed. After catching him, they took him straight to the police station and opened a case against him. According to the police spokesperson, Colonel Adele Myburgh, a case of malicious property damage was opened against the 25-year-old Vuyo Marwezi. “The suspect was charged on 1 June and his second court appearance was on Tuesday, 7 June,” she confirmed.
