Minister of transport inspects progress on N12

Approximately R45 million was set aside to maintain the N12 where SANRAL has since deployed Construction Teams and Specialists to attend to the matter.

The Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, paid a visit to the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District in Thursday, 23 June to inspect the progress made on the pothole-riddled N12 National Road.

This road goes through Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp and Wolmaransstad.

For the inspection, the minister was accompanied by the executive mayor of the JB Marks Local Municipality, Cllr Gaba Ka Qhele, Speaker, Cllr Moithoesi Dassie, Single Whip, Cllr Lumkile Links, MMC’s, councillors and officials.

This was the ministers second visit to the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District to report on progress with regards to the commitments made following the Presidential Imbizo that was held at  Mahikeng for the National Department of Transport and SANRAL to fix some of the roads in consultation with the North West Provincial Government.
