The annual #ProPotch Clean-Up and Recycle Week will once again give Potchefstroomers the opportunity to participate in communal spring cleaning from 12 to 17 September.

The Potchefstroom Chamber of Commerce invites all organisations, businesses, and citizens to participate in their annual #ProPotch Clean-Up and Recycle Week to pick up 3,000 bags of litter and spring-clean our city. The Potchefstroom Chamber of Commerce’s heartbeat is about creating a better future for Potchefstroom. They are convinced that our community can make an enormous difference by standing together and being part of the solution.

“Potchefstroom has the potential to be one of the greatest cities in South Africa. But for this to happen, we need to acknowledge the problems and be the change we want to see in our city,” said Mrs Juanita Smit, chairperson of the Potchefstroom Chamber of Commerce.

Smit further stated that they need the community to work together, encourage change in their neighbourhoods, and create a positive mindset among each other. As part of the National Clean Up and Recycle SA week, the Potchefstroom Chamber of commerce, in collaboration with local organisations, businesses, the J.B. Marks municipality and community members, will clean up Potchefstroom. All litter items collected will be recycled by Deswalner Recycling.

As part of their effort to improve our city proactively, the Chamber of Commerce encourages all community members to pick up litter in the areas where they work, live, and play.
