On Thursday,17 November, at approximately 21:15 lightning struck and hit three houses in Ben Pineaar street, Baillie Park.
According to Rocco Nolte one of the residents, whose house was affected, he saw the strike as it happened. “We were all awake and I was busy braaing when it happened,” he said.
“The light used for my braai stand completely melted off,” he added.
Rocco added that he and his neighbour’s electric fence took a knock and their power supply melted but , fortunately no one got injured.
