Promosa Gladiators Gives Back for Women’s Month

The Promosa Gladiators hosted a soup and clothing give-away 24 August.

The day was hosted in honour of Women’s Month, and was a great success. The gladiators collected clothing and cooked soup, which they handed out to the community in front of the Promosa Community Hall.

Talitha Harwood, chairperson of the Gladiators, said that the manager of Miederpark Spar made the possible. “He gave us a voucher of R 800, and we were able to buy all the ingredients we needed for the soup. We want to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his generosity.”

Harwood stated further that the Gladiators give their thanks to JB Marks who filled up their gas bottles for them. “I want to thank Betty Campbell as well. She is our oldest member, 84 years old. She is loyal to the club and always willing to help. We are lucky to have her.”

Harwood says they are looking to find a sponsorship as they don’t have current funding. “We have a need for transport. Some of our members live very far away and we don’t have a means to collect them. If someone can help us with transport it will be much appreciated.”
