The relentless pursuit of justice by the Provincial Organized and Commercial Crimes units has resulted in the apprehension of three additional suspects connected to the ongoing investigation surrounding Project “Robocop”.
Following the initial arrests of Raselane Kaweni (44) and Seuntjie Yman (31) in Ventersdorp and Vryburg respectively on Tuesday, 30 April 2024, the investigative efforts have yielded further results. Kaweni and Yman were presented before the Vryburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 02 May 2024, and have been remanded in custody until Monday, 06 May 2024.
In a recent development, the diligent team succeeded in apprehending a 53-year-old male suspect on Thursday afternoon, 2 May 2024, in Jan Kemp, Northern Cape. This individual is allegedly linked to a string of offenses including robbery aggravating, kidnapping, and extortion, purportedly perpetrated at Huhudi Location between November 2020 and August 2022. The suspect is scheduled for his initial court appearance in Vryburg today. This latest arrest brings the tally of apprehended individuals since the culmination of Project “Robocop” to 18.
North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, has commended the unwavering dedication and collective efforts exhibited by the investigative team.
