Ikageng police seek to identify theft suspect

Ikageng Police are seeking public assistance to identify and locate a suspect involved in a theft incident in Ikageng.

The Ikageng Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with a theft incident.

The suspect is linked to a crime that took place on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, around 16:00 in Lekhele Street, Ikageng. The victim, along with a friend, was approached by an unknown man who asked for help withdrawing money from an ATM. The man handed over his bank card and provided a PIN number in exchange for the victim’s cellular phone. However, when the complainant and his friend attempted to use the card at a nearby ATM, they discovered that the PIN was incorrect. Upon returning, the suspect and the cellular phone were both gone.

The suspect is described as dark in complexion, with dark eyes, medium height, and a slender build. He was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans at the time of the incident.

The Ikageng Police are urging anyone with information that could help identify or locate the suspect to contact Constable Zakia Karim-Sheik of the Ikageng Detectives.
