Burst pipe causes water disruption in Bailliepark

This is not the first time Bailliepark has experienced water-related issues.

Residents of Bailliepark woke up to an unexpected water disruption early this morning after a water pipe burst in Rocher Street, directly in front of the local pre-primary school, Woel en Werskaf.

The incident was reported at 6:30 on Wednesday, June 9.

According to local reports, the burst appears to be the result of cold weather conditions placing strain on the aging water infrastructure in the area. Water could be seen gushing from the damaged pipe, flooding a part of the street.

A resident on the scene shared a photo of the burst pipe on Facebook and confirmed that the matter has already been reported to the JB Marks Municipality. At the time of publication, no official response time had been given.

This is not the first time Bailliepark has experienced water-related issues, and the latest incident has once again raised concerns over the condition of the suburb’s aging pipelines.

Residents are advised to exercise caution when driving in the affected area and to report any further leaks or hazards.
