Power restored after major outage hits Potchefstroom

A technical fault left the entire Potchefstroom region without power earlier today. Technicians acted swiftly to restore electricity to all affected areas.

A technical fault at Eskom’s Britzkop Substation along the N12, caused a power outage in the entire Potchefstroom region on August 11.

According to Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson, a jumper at the substation broke down earlier this morning, which caused a trip at the Potch DS Substation.

This is the main supply point for electricity in the area. Eskom technicians attended to the issue at the Britzkop Substation and managed to restore power,” Tshite said.
