Police seek help to identify body found Near testing station

Police in Potchefstroom are asking for the public’s help to identify a man found dead near the JB Marks testing station.

The police in Potchefstroom are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the body of an unknown man discovered in the bushes near the JB Marks testing station on, September 15.

According to police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, the deceased is an African male who was wearing a brown jacket, a red and white shirt, and brown trousers at the time of discovery.

Investigators recovered an identity card at the scene, leading them to the name Pitso Moagi. However, the residential address linked to the ID in Krugersdorp does not exist, and attempts to trace any known relatives or associates have so far been unsuccessful.

The police are urging anyone who may know Pitso Moagi or who may have reported him missing to come forward. They can contact Sergeant Mogapi Mosetlhi on 072 953 2969 or visit their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously by calling the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.

Police investigations are ongoing.
