MooiRivier Mall bring learners together for Spelling Bee

MooiRivier Mall thanks all participating schools, learners, teachers, the panel of judges, sponsors, and parents for their support throughout the competition.

MooiRivier Mall recently hosted a Spelling Bee Competition over three consecutive weekends, bringing together primary school learners from across Potchefstroom. The event forms part of MooiRivier Mall’s vision to support education and community development, as MooiRivier Mall believes that “excellence comes standard” and aims to stand out as the education hub of our town.

The first round took place on February 28, with 23 learners from B.M. Choabi Primary, Laerskool President Pretorius, Potchefstroom Islamic Academy, and Promosa Primary participating.
The second round followed on March 7, where 25 learners from Potchefstroom Central Primary, Potchefstroom Primary, Bright Beginning Primary School, and Saints Christian School competed for a place in the finals.
The final round was held on March 14, with six finalists from Potchefstroom Central Primary, Potchefstroom Primary, and Laerskool President Pretorius battling for the title.

The 2026 Spelling Bee Champion is Blessed Kakwata from Laerskool President Pretorius.
Second place went to Rumaissaa Sooliman from Potchefstroom Central Primary.
Third place was shared by Unichi Desire and Relebohile Setaka from Potchefstroom Primary.
