Residents and Stakeholders are encouraged to review the published document and submit written comments on the proposed Electricity Tariff increase.
Residents and stakeholders in the JB Marks area have an opportunity to have their say on the proposed electricity tariffs for the 2026/27 financial year.
This public consultation process is a NERSA (National Energy Regulator of South Africa) requirement regarding the Cost of Supply Study.
The tariff document can be found here.
According to the JB Marks Municipality they conducted a Cost of Supply Study as regulated by NERSA tot determine the actual cost of providing electricity services to customers.
“The outcome of this study informed the development of cost-reflective electricity tariffs, which will
assist the Municipality in delivering sustainable electricity services,” stated JB Marks Municipal spokesperson, Jeanette Tshite.
The Municipality is proposing a range of electricity tariff adjustment based on the finding of the abovementioned study.
“These proposed adjustments aim to
support the sustainable delivery of electricity services while progressively moving towards cost-reflective tariff levels,” added Tshite.

written comments on the proposed Electricity Tariff increase by Tuesday, March 31 via email to michaelm@jbmarks.gov.za.
