Potch and Ikageng still without electricity
Residents have been without power since 12:50 and will most likely have to sit in the dark tonight.
Numerous areas of Potch and Ikageng are without electricity since 12:50 this afternoon (Monday, March 23).
This outage is believed to be due to a fault on a 132kV power line. According to the JB Marks Local Municipality, technical teams are working to resolve the electrical breakdown.
The outage is affecting the whole of Ikageng as well as the Bult, Bailliepark, Mooivalleipark, Tuscany Ridge, Vanderhoffpark, Vyfhoek, DeLand and the Dam-area among other nearby areas.
JB Marks municipal spokesperson, Jeanette Tshite stated that that the estimated time for restoration is unknown.
“Residents are urged to treat all electrical outlets and appliances as live and potentially dangerous, as electricity may be restored without prior notice.”
