Now is the time: Don’t miss Rocking the Vaal 2026

The festival brings some of South Africa’s biggest artists together on one stage, including Kurt Darren, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Demi Lee Moore, Heuwels Fantasties, Refentse and Droomsindroom.

Rocking the Vaal 2026 will take place on Saturday, 11 April at Emerald Resort & Casino, where thousands of people are once again expected to gather for a day of music, food and community participation. Over the past few years, the festival has grown into one of the Vaal’s biggest events, with a clear focus on participation and large-scale experiences.

This year, organisers are once again aiming high with two new Guinness World Record attempts — an attempt to make the most pancakes ever, as well as an impressive 3,000 kg pot of Chilli Con Carne. These projects directly involve thousands of people and make them part of the moment.

Rocking the Vaal builds on a highly successful 2025, during which the festival set three Guinness World Records, including the largest pot of pap (2,334 kg), a three-kilometre serving of kebab meat, and the most people breaking bread simultaneously. These achievements not only attracted international attention but also directly benefited and strengthened the Vaal community.

In addition to the record attempts, the festival brings some of South Africa’s biggest artists together on one stage, including Kurt Darren, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Demi Lee Moore, Heuwels Fantasties, Refentse and many others. This gives visitors the opportunity to experience a strong line-up in one day, on one stage.

What sets Rocking the Vaal apart is that people don’t just come to watch — they take part. The energy lies in the crowd, in the shared moments, and in the fact that every visitor becomes part of the day’s experience.

It is this element that keeps people coming back year after year.

Don’t miss out.

Rocking the Vaal builds on a strong record legacy after the festival set three Guinness World Records in 2025 — including the largest pot of pap (2,334 kg), the largest serving of kebab meat spanning three kilometres, and the most people breaking bread simultaneously. These achievements highlighted the community’s spirit of collaboration and unity on an international level.

Rocking the Vaal is organised by the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce (GTCOC), in collaboration with Emerald Resort & Casino, which hosts the event.
