Motorists urged to avoid intersection after sewer line collapse

Contractors are currently on the scene at the corner of Du Plooy Street and Beyers Naude Avenue.

The corner of Du Plooy street and Beyers Naude Avenue is currently a no-go zone for motorists after a sewer line collapsed this afternoon (Friday, July 17).

Contractor teams are currently at the scene working on fixing the issue. There are only yellow warning markers around the work area. Motorists will especially need to be aware of this dangerous area as night approaches.

DA Ward 15 councillor, Madra de Bruin, issued a waring earlier this afternoon to the community stating that motorists need to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
