A host of taxi's arrived around 12:00 blocking off routes from Potch to Klerksdorp and vice versa.

Taxi operators are currently blocking off the N12 road at the Nelson Mandela Bridge in Potchefstroom.

A host of taxi’s arrived just after 12:00 blocking off routes from Potch to Klerksdorp and vice versa.

Motorists will also not be able to use Beyers Naudé Avenue at the N12-intersection with taxi’s blocking the way.

It is alleged that the taxi operators are unhappy with illegal transport services such as seven seaters, outside of Potch and Ikageng using their routes and asking reduced tariffs.

NW police spokesperson, Capt. Majang Skalkie, confirmed that Public Order Police has been deployed.

No arrests have been made.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
