The Cachet Park CID public safety team had a busy day after proactive patrols and CCTV monitoring led to two knives being removed from suspects and another suspect being detained in possession of suspected stolen garden equipment.

According to Leandro de Beer, manager at Cachet Park CID, the incidents highlight the importance of visible patrols, effective CCTV monitoring and close cooperation between safety teams.

“Through proactive monitoring and swift response, two knives were removed from two suspects, preventing these dangerous weapons from remaining on our streets,” said de Beer.

A further suspect was detained after being found in possession of garden equipment suspected to have been stolen.

De Beer said the incidents demonstrate the value of the coordinated approach between the Cachet Park CID CCTV, Mooirivier Beskerming and reaction teams.

“Cachet Park CID remains committed to creating a safer environment for our residents, students, businesses and visitors,” he said.
