Missing teenager found after weeks of searching

Teenager Catharina Booysens, missing since November, has been found safe in Brakpan on 14 December 2024 and reunited with her foster parents.

The search for 16-year-old Catharina Booysens, who went missing in early November, has come to a positive conclusion. The teenager was found unharmed in Brakpan on Saturday, 14 December 2024, and has since been reunited with her foster parents.

Booysens had been missing since 11 November 2024, when she was last seen by her foster parent at their home in Freemanville, Klerksdorp. Despite extensive search efforts by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the community, no leads had surfaced, and her whereabouts remained unknown for over a month.

For those who assisted in the search or provided tips, the SAPS expressed their appreciation, noting that it was the collective effort of the community that made the resolution possible.
